Loup is the French word for wolf. What began as a reference to a favorite character from Pulp Fiction, our reverence for the wolf has grown beyond film. In many cultures, the wolf is a symbol for understanding, loyalty, and high intellect -- qualities we strive to embody as a company.

meet the founders

emily hughes

Before Loup Digital, Hughes was Director of Audience Development at goop, where she led all digital marketing and growth initiatives and learned a lot about detoxes. Her audience development expertise came from two years as Associate Marketing Manager at Time Inc. for Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, FWx, and Departures. Her work on these brands turned Hughes into a bit of a traveling foodie, yet her favorite meal at home remains peanut butter straight from the jar. Before discovering audience development, Hughes worked in public relations, including a stint as the Social Marketing & Digital Communication Manager at American Express Publishing. Hughes also teaches at Columbia University and NYU, and sits on the Alumni Board at Villanova University. When not working, she can be found without fail with her rescue mutt Gus.


kristin perla

Perla is a mom of three future world rulers, a passionate green tea drinker, and a former Executive Director of Audience Development at Time Inc., where she led all digital marketing and audience development initiatives for Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure and Departures. With over 18 years of digital experience, Perla has been responsible for triple-digit brand traffic growth and winning revenue strategies. She led audience development for multiple new digital platforms and brand offshoots, and provided leadership over a team of high performing marketers and technologists. Despite all of this, Perla struggles daily with her Keurig and printer. Perla has a passion for home décor and fashion – particularly shoes that boost her height above 5 ft. – and in her (non-existent) free time you can find her redecorating yet another room in her home.




suzzy mclean

Partner + VP of Digital Marketing

After 15+ years working in digital marketing and strategy for some of the most admired (and Insta-worthy) brands, McLean decided to venture into the world of digital marketing consulting to help grow small-to-medium-sized businesses in all things Digital. Prior to consulting, McLean worked for BlackRock as their head of digital engagement. There she saw an opportunity to turn data into actionable next steps. McLean both led and supported eCommerce marketing and user experience for Williams-Sonoma, L'Occitane and Godiva where she gained a deep appreciation for food, chocolate, some of the finest smelling candles. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, McLean is passionate about health and wellness—she’s an Ironman triathlete, a marathon runner, and a board m­­ember of a non-profit that supports girls in sports. When not working, McLean can be found with her husband and three kids either traveling, running, testing new recipes, or at the local park.
