Loup Digital Judges National Girl Scouts Award

Girl Scouts is a powerhouse organization meant to unleash the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ in each of its members. Being a Girl Scout is what you make of it -- it offers a world of opportunities. One of the greatest Girl Scout achievements is the Gold Award, the highest Girl Scouts distinction. This year, for the second time, I have the privilege of being a judge for the Girl Scouts’ National Young Women of Distinction Award. This award recognizes ten stand out Gold Award Girl Scouts whose projects “demonstrated extraordinary leadership, had a measurable and sustainable impact, and addressed a local challenge related to a national and/or global issue.” The recipients of the National Young Women of Distinction Award are leaders, world-shakers, and ambassadors to the Girl Scout Movement. The award provides recipients with professional public speaking training, college scholarships, support in sustaining Gold Award projects, and the role of representing GSUSA to a national audience.

For over 100 years, Girl Scouts has provided a platform for young women to develop voices of leadership, confidence, and change. As an organization, they stand behind the research that, “girls learn best in an all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment.” This belief lies at the heart of Loup Digital and is something I’m passionate about. Confidence is a quality that can be brought into fruition at a young age, and Girl Scouts seeks to hone that quality in each of its members by supporting and recognizing their endeavors. When young women are given a springboard of support, their life trajectory can be altered. I am ecstatic to play a part in this organization’s mission, and am beyond impressed by every National Young Women of Distinction Award applicant.
